Samruk-Kazyna to finish Talks with Sberbank

    The National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna plans to finish in May 2009 negotiations with the Savings Bank of Russia (Sberbank) to join BTA Bank, Chairman of Samruk-Kazyna, Kairat Kelimbetov stated at the Majilis yesterday, Kazakhstan Today reports.
    "The Savings Bank of Russia is considering the possibility of becoming a shareholder in Bank Turan Alem ... This is not a final decision, neither for the Savings Bank, nor the Kazakhstan. I believe we will inform you on the results of the negotiations with the Savings Bank of Russia in May," Kelimbetov said, according to Kazakhstan Today
