National Security Committee arrests Zhakishev, 3 VPs and 2 Others

    The National Security Committee has arrested former head of Kazatomprom National Atomic Company JSC -- Mukhtar Dzhakishev on suspicion of embezzlement of an “especially large amount,” according to a statement from the KNB Press Secretary Kenzhebulat Beknazarov.
    "I can confirm the information released on the National Security Committee’s detention of the former head of Kazatomprom Mukhtar Dzhakishev. In addition to Mr Dzhakisheva, we also arrested five more people from the national atomic company, including three vice presidents, who were Dmitri Parfenov, Askar Kasabekov, and Malkhaz Tsotsoriya," Beknazarov said. Mr Dzhakishev was arrested on suspicion stealing a large amount of money," he said, Kazakhstan Today reports.
