Business Elite rallies to Dzhakishev’s Defense

    Numerous representatives of Kazakhstan’s business-elite have sent an open letter to President Nursultan Nazarbayev asking him to ensure openness in the investigation surrounding Kazatomprom. Officials that signed the letter included Nurlan Smagulov, Nurzhan Subhanberdin, Raimbek Batalov, among others
    According to the letter, Mukhtar Dzhakishev, “is an exemplary family man, a father, who is brining up five children in the spirit of patriotism and a love for his motherland”.
    The letter read, “the situation surrounding Kazatomprom will inevitably affect the country’s international reputation, as well as that of the company, which for a long time was lead and developed by Mukhtar Dzhakishev, and actively cooperated with the nuclear enterprises of the United States, Russia, China, Japan and other countries”.
    The letter said the “opacity of the process worsens the investment climate in the country and aggravates the situation with Kazatomprom, Radio Azattyk - RF reports.
