Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Grigory Marchenko is forecasting positive economic growth in Kazakhstan in 2010. Marchenko made the statement in an interview with the Russian RBC television channel, Kazakhstan Today reports.
"I think we will see positive results next year. We will see an anti-recession program for $19 billion in 2010, after the situation with the two big banks (Alliance Bank and BTA) improves," Marchenko said.
$10 billion was allocated in 2008 from the National Fund for economic support. Kazakhstan developed a complex anti-recession program in the end of 2008, and in January 2009 it created a detailed plan for its implementation, according to Kazakhstan Today.
