Nursultan Nazarbaev makes New Personnel Appointments

President Nazarbayev has dismissed Security Council Secretary Kairbek Suleimenov from his post by decree, and has appointed him head of the Republican Council of Veterans, reports a CA-News correspondent.
In his place, Marat Tazhin has become the new secretary of the Security Council, and simultaneously, assistant to the president.
Former Chairman of the council Muhtay Sagdiev, who led this organization since 1991, asked to leave the position for health reasons.
60 year-old Suleimenov was appointed as Security Council Secretary in August 2008. He formerly held various chief positions in internal security bodies.
Sagdiev celebrated his 80th birthday in May of this year, according to CA-News.org.
