The Head of State and Nur Otan party leader, Nursultan Nazarbayev has named the new first deputy Chairman as former Karaganda regional governor, Nurlan Nigmatulin. The President thanked the former first deputy chairman of the Nur Otan party, Darkhan Kaletaev for his work and wished him success in his new post as the Samruk Kazyna Fund executive director.
Nursultan Nazarbayev went on to say, “Nurlan Nigmatulin has been in charge of many important projects and the Karaganda region for many years. This is the largest region in the country regarding both its population and economic potential and it was a difficult job. Regardless of these difficulties, Karaganda has changed for the better along with its regional centres. These results were achieved thanks to the active work done by Nurlan Nigmatulin. I would like to thank him for this and I think Karaganda residents will also thank him for his activity.”
The head of state has suggested the regional council appoint Karaganda region-born deputy prime minister Serik Akhmetov as its new governor, according to Caspionet.
