Kazakhstan should prepare for New Crisis after 2011-2012 - Masimov
11.12.2009
Kazakhstan will grow its economy in 2011-2012, but during the next decade we should expect another economic crisis, said Prime Minister Karim Masimov.
"In 2010, there will still be a little gale, but not like in 2009. Then in 2011-2012, we will again see growth, but probably in the next decade, some other crisis will happen," said Masimov on December 10 at the Second Congress Of Workers Of Mining And Metallurgical Industry.
"We have already become accustomed; we passed the crisis and the collapse of the USSR, as well as the current world economic crisis. I believe one of the most important lessons (of the current crisis-KNL) is countries should support traditional industries, which in moments of crisis act as engines," he stated, referring to the mining and metallurgical industry, oil and gas and agriculture.
"With these, we need to particularly focus in the next few years and give them some more prosperous conditions," he added, IA Novosti-Kazakhstan reports.
