According to preliminary data, Kazakhstan’s GDP growth in 2009 was about 1%, the Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Grigory Marchenko stated at a press conference in Almaty, Kazakhstan Today reports.
"According to preliminary data, GDP growth reached nearly 1%," Marchenko said.
"Our forecast was plus 0.1 - 0.3%. We debated with the IMF (International Monetary Fund) on this. The IMF forecasted minus 2%," he noted, according to Kazakhstan Today.
