Azerbaijan backs holding OSCE States’ Summit in Astana

Kanat Saudabayev, the OSCE chairman-in-office and secretary of state and minister for foreign affairs of Kazakhstan arrived in Azerbaijan for the first time in his new position.
Receiving the OSCE chairman-in-office, minister for foreign affairs Elmar Mammadyarov of Azerbaijan said his country backs Kazakhstan’s presidency over the OSCE and its initiative to organize the OSCE States’ Summit in Astana this year.
“We regard Kazakhstan’s presidency in the OSCE as a positive factor as this country with which both Azerbaijan and Armenia were united earlier in the same country is now the chairman in such authorized organization,” Mammadyarov said, according to the Azerbaijan Business Center.
