Majilis passes New Subsoil Law

    The Majilis at a plenary session has passed the new law on subsoil and subsoil use, Kazakhstan Today reports.
    According to the conclusion of the Majilis Committee for Ecology and Wildlife Management, "the bill is designed to modernize the legal regulation of public relations in the subsoil use sector."
    "Some sections of the new legislation have been edited or completely removed to bring the legislation in conformity with the civil, ecological, and tax codes and the law on private business, as well as the legislation on specially protected natural territories, and on the legal status of foreigners," according to Kazakhstan Today.
