German Chancellor congratulates Nazarbayev on beginning OSCE Chairmanship

    German Chancellor, Angela Merkel has congratulated the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, on the beginning of Kazakhstan’s presidency over the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Kazakhstan Today reports citing a presidential press release.
    "The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, held a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, on the initiative of Germany. Merkel congratulated Nazarbayev on the beginning of the presidency over Kazakhstan in the OSCE."
    Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked the Chancellor for German assistance to Kazakhstan in its chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe as well as Kazakhstan’s initiative to carry out the OSCE summit in Astana. They noted they need to define a substantial part of the agenda for the upcoming summit," the press release stated.
    Nazarbayev also praised the contribution of German companies to the industrialization strategy of Kazakhstan, according to Kazakhstan Today.
