Kazakhstan to double GDP by 2020 via Industrialization Program

The implementation of Kazakhstan’s industrial-innovative development program until will result in an increase of national GDP, Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev announced on Tuesday while rendering a speech at the opening of the Eurasian media forum in Almaty, CEIBCNews reports citing Novosti-Kazakhstan IA.
"This year, we started implementing a new program for the industrial-innovative development of Kazakhstan until 2020. This is a matter of major importance for Kazakhstan... the result of this program shall be a doubling of economic growth as well as improving standards of living for people here," Nazarbayev said.
According to the president, over 140 projects worth $5 billion will be implemented as part of the program this year.
In the meantime, work on the launch of 47 facilities for $26 billion has commenced, Kazinform reports.
