Former Mangistau Akim named KazMunaiGas Deputy Chairman

    Former Akim of the oil producing Mangistau Oblast, Bolat Palymbetov, has been named managing director and deputy chairman of KazMunaiGas, the national oil and gas company.
    The 49-year old Palymbetov reportedly began his new job on May 4.
    In 1999-2006, Palymbetov served as the deputy akim of the Atyrau Oblast, deputy minister of economy, and akim of the Mangistau Oblast.
    Prior to his appointment to KazMunaiGas, Palymbetov was chairman of the state-owned Caspiy Social-Entrepreneurial Corporation, according to SRI.
