Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev called for an international plan to aid Kyrgyzstan, news media reported June 8.
Nazarbayev, speaking at the third summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), also urged a forum between CICA and the OSCE, which Kazakhstan chairs this year.
CICA has 20 member states, including the Central Asian countries except Turkmenistan. The summit runs June 7-9. Kazakhstan is handing the rotating CICA chairmanship to Turkey this year, according to Central Asia Online.
