Almaty Commodity Exchange to start Gold Futures Trading

    Eurasian Trading System (ETS), an Almaty-based commodity exchange, will begin trading in gold futures by late of October, the company’s marketing director Aynur Kayshibaeva told Interfax on Monday.
    “In late October, ETS will begin the settlement of futures contracts for gold,” Interfax quoted Kayshibaeva as saying. “Technically, we are ready but are waiting for the brokerage companies to obtain licenses. We think (this process) should be completed next week.
    ETS currently facilitates spot and futures trading in agricultural products, petroleum products, metals. ETS is jointly owned by the Regional Financial Center Almaty (RFCA) (40%) and Russian stock exchange RTS (60%), SRI writes.
