Almaty to earn $1.5 Billion through Tourism Development

    Almaty should be able to earn $1.5 billion a year through developing its tourism industry, Almaty Akim, Ahmetzhan Yesimov said, according to Kazakhstan Today.
    Yesimov was presenting the new plan for the development of a tourism industry to President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
    A foreign company has been invited to Kazakhstan conducted research to determine prospects for tourism development, he noted. "We should develop infrastructure. KZT 700 million has been allocated by the government for roads, water and electricity," Yesimov said. He added a road would be constucted from Medeo towards Kok Zhaylayu.
    "If we build this road, it will be 500 kilometers. We need 700 million, and 2 billion in private investments to build this 500-kilometer road. Malaysians are ready to give private investments, and our investors are also ready," the akim said, Kazakhstan Today said.
