Results of Opinion Poll on Referendum released

    In January 2011, a number of Kazakhstani organizations held a public opinion poll on Kazakhstani citizens' attitudes related to holding a referendum to extend the powers of the Kazakhstan's president until 2020.
    In the event of a decision to hold the referendum, 85% of respondents said they were willing to vote, Kazinform said.
    93% of respondents said they supported holding the referendum to extend the rule of President Nazarbayev until 2020, Kazinform said.
