OSCE welcomes Nazarbayev`s Referendum Decision

    OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Ažubalis, has welcomed the decision Nursultan Nazarbayev made Monday not to hold a referendum to extending his term of office, a OSCE press release says.
    The decision was made after the Constitutional Council ruled that holding the referendum would be unconstitutional.
    In a telephone conversation with 2010 OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister and Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev, Ažubalis also took note of President Nazarbayev's proposal to hold an early presidential election, Trend reports.
