Kazakhstani Parties to register Presidential Candidate on February 11

The Nur Otan and Azat political parties announced they will register candidates for Kazakhstan's early presidential elections April 3, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported February 5.
Both parties said they will present their candidates February 11. Registration of candidates opened February 5.
Nur Otan is chaired by President Nursultan Nazarbayev and holds a majority of the seats in parliament.
Azat is the opposition social-democratic party, led by Zharmakhan Tyakbai and Bulat Abilov.
Leaders of the opposition Ak Zhol party and the Green party have both said they will likely not field candidates as they don't see any point in doing so, CA-News reported, according to Centarl Asia Online.
