Kazakhstan to Officially make Bid to host 2022 Winter Olympics

Kazakhstan intends to apply in 2017 to host the Winter Olympics-2022, Minister of Tourism and Sport Temirkhan Dosmukhanbetov said.
Kazakhstan has all necessary pre-conditions to take part in the competition and become a venue for such events, he said.
He added that the global sports community, including the International Olympic Committee recognizes this fact.
"Kazakhstan has the best conditions (for the Olympics) among Asian countries", he said.
He also stressed Kazakhstan hopes to hold the Winter Olympic Games-2022 in two cities - Astana and Almaty, he added.
The possibility of holding the Winter Olympics in Kazakhstan in 2022 was discussed at a meeting between President Nursultan Nazarbayev and the chairman of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge, when the later was in the country during the Asian Winter Games, Trend said.
