2 Kazakh Police, 1 Special Forces Officer killed in Aktobe

Authorities are pursuing an armed gang that killed two policemen and a special forces officer in the Aktobe Oblast, western Kazakhstan, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported July 3.
Almat Imangaliyev, a spokesman for the Aktobe Oblast Internal Affairs Department, confirmed that police had launched an operation after gunmen shot two police to death in Shubarshi village July 1.
A special forces officer helping pursue the suspects also was shot to death July 2, Imangaliyev confirmed July 3, according to Novosti-Kazakhstan.
It is not known if the assailants belonged to a Wahhabist group, he said.
Police identified six suspects and are offering a US $100,000 (14.6m KZT) reward for information leading to their capture, RFE/RL reported, according to Central Asia Online.
