Kazakh President to pay First Official Visit to Vietnam

    President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev is planning his first official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam this year, Kazinform reports.
    Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Kazakhstan, Vu The Hiep made the announcement yesterday.
    The date of the visit has not been fixed as of yet.
    The ambassador emphasized this was a great historic event, and Vietnam was interested in building full-scale diplomatic, political and economic relations with Kazakhstan.
    Besides, Vu The Hiep noted that the two countries had great prospects for future productive cooperation.
    "Vietnam is interested in attracting Kazakhstani investments into oil and gas exploration and production as well," he said.
    "Kazakhstan and Vietnam have set similar strategic goals for the decade ahead, and the two countries' governments plan to rank among the top industrial countries by 2020," he added, Trend reports.
