President Nazarbayev to attend the 2^nd International Nuclear Security Forum in Seoul

    Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev will attend the 2^nd International Nuclear Security Forum to be held in 2012 in Seoul.
    “I am grateful for the invitation to attend the Forum in March 2012. It is with great pleasure that I accept the invitation”, President Nazarbayev said at the joint press-conference with President Lee Myung-bak of South Korea in Astana.
    The 1^st Nuclear Security Summit was held in Washington in 2010 and was attended by 40 world leaders. The Washington Summit focused exclusively on nuclear security. The Fukushima nuclear disaster has added a new twist, providing the impetus to broaden the Seoul Summit agenda to include nuclear safety and place a higher priority on radioactive materials, according to Tengrinews.kz.
