British-Kazakh Society issues Invites for 20k Charity Race -- Astana 2011

    The British-Kazakh Society and the Akimat of Astana are organizing a 20k Charity Race Astana 2011 on September 17 in the Central Park of Astana.
    We hope to raise substantial donations for charity organisation, which works with the children of the Aral, as well as to bring attention of the Kazakhstani public to the admirable work being done by the representative office of international charity foundation, the Children of Chernobyl and the Aral, in Kyzylorda city, the official announcement said.
    We organized a very successful 7k race in 2009 and a 10k in 2010 and hope to gradually build a full length marathon in Astana, firmly placing the city on the world marathon map, it continued
    Apart from the charity, the race is aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and involves participants ranging from Kazakhstan, the UK and multinational companies, embassies based in Astana and ordinary citizens in the capital, the press release from the British-Kazakh Society stated, according to Gazeta.kz.
