Kazakhstan, China to expand Energy Cooperation

A senior Chinese energy official said China plans to expand its cooperation with Kazakhstan, especially in oil, gas and chemical engineering, Xinhua reported September 9.
“The two countries should accelerate the construction of oil pipelines, including the Beyneu-Chimkent section of the China-Kazakhstan gas pipeline and the Kazakh section of the China-Central Asia gas pipeline,” Liu Tienan, head of the National Energy Administration, said in Beijing, according to Xinhua.
Liu spoke after a trip to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, ITAR-TASS reported. In Kazakhstan he participated in the ceremonial start of welding on the second segment of the China-Kazakhstan pipeline, Itar-Tass reports.
