8th Interregional Cooperation Forum kicks-off in Astrakhan

    The 8th Kazakhstan and Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum with the participation of Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Dmitry Medvedev has started in Astrakhan.
    The forum is themed, Joint Response to Trans-border Emergency Situations, and brings together government authorities, ministers, heads of departments and reps from the cross-border regions of Kazakhstan and Russia.
    Those attending will debate prospects for joint responses to trans-border emergencies, cooperation in sanitation and epidemiological disaster response in cross-border regions, the elimination of the consequences of natural disasters, and emergency assistance programs.
    A set of documents will be signed following the discussions, according to Kazinform.
