This year’s crop is expected to break all previous records.
To date, according to the Prime Minister, there are 21 million tons of wheat in the country’s reserve.
Prime Minister Karim Masimov noted, “This year’s yield is expected at 24-25 million tons. According to reports from the Minister of Agriculture and regional akims, the crop will be preserved despite its large volume.
To do this, the draft budget was amended to include subsidies for grain transportation, and grain purchases performed by KazAgro on your instruction as well.
This will provide certain results, and we are keeping this under constant control. The grain, which is being harvested thanks to the hard-work that was done by our farmers, should be, and will be preserved”.
President Nursultan Nazarbayev commented, “It is important to keep this large crop and export it in a timely manner, so the agricultural producers do not lose their money and earn appropriate funds for further development”.
“The second big current question is winter preparations for farms and all the regions. This is very important. The third issue is preparations for decent celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the country’s independence”.
Prime Minister Karim Masimov said, “Almost all indicators show that the orders that you assigned at a government meeting held in April this year, are all being implemented. I would like to reassure you that by the end of 2011, 7% growth will be achieved in accordance with the goal you have set,” Caspionet said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev added, “We have developed all the programs so far. We have an industrial program and our agricultural industry is developing. We have a program dealing with social issues and the development of medicine, public health is improving as well. To ensure that people are working, an employment program is underway along with the housing program; so all programs are operating and the funds have been allocated”.
“The main issue now is to control the execution of these programs, which will promote economic development and improvements in people's lives,” he said, Caspionet reports.
