Azerbaijani President arrives in Almaty

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has arrived in Almaty on an official visit, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ilyas Omarov told Trend on Wednesday.
President Ilham Aliyev is visiting Almaty on Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's invitation Oct. 19 through 20, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Altay Abibullayev said at a briefing in Astana on Monday.
"The two presidents are scheduled to hold bilateral talks in narrow and extended formats. It is also planned to sign a Joint Declaration of the Kazakh and Azerbaijani presidents, several bilateral intergovernmental agreements and cooperation programs between the foreign ministries," Abibullayev said.
President Aliyev visited Kazakhstan on the eve of the first summit of the Cooperation Council of the Turkic Speaking States (CCTS).
Almaty will host the first summit of the CCTS with the participation of the presidents of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey on Oct.20-21, Trend states.
