The Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund (NWF) will launch scholarships for young researchers in Kazakhstan, Chairman Timur Kulibayev said at a meeting on innovation and development of the Fund’s group of companies, Tengrinews.kz reports.
“Samruk-Kazyna is ready to make its contribution. I would like to suggest that Samruk-Kazyna offer scholarships to twenty young and ambitious researchers from Kazakhstan. They will work on problems that are on our agenda. I encourage our national companies to headhunt in their areas and attract young people. They will become a bridge between research and our industries,” Kulibayev commented.
According to the chairman, Samruk-Kazyna is able to provide a tremendous stimulus for the development of research and science in Kazakhstan, which will establish a link between industry and the research.
“It is important to correctly set up a system of research stimulation and development innovations in the companies,” he said.
Innovation budgets at firms should be increased, and current trend has to be maintained, he said.
“We need to involve local research in addressing the problems with technology that national companies experience,” Kulibayev explained, according to www.tengrinews.kz.
