Massimov proposes awarding President Nazarbayev with Highest State Award

    Prime Minister Karim Massimov has nominated President Nursultan Nazarbayev for the highest state award called -- Halyk Kaharmany (People’s Hero).
    Minister of Justice Rashid Tussupbekov subsequently proposed amendments to the national law on state awards at a government session.
    “The premier proposed awarding the first president with the Halyk Қaһarmany title together with the Golden Star and the Otan Order,” Tussupbekov said.
    “I propose supporting Karim Massimov’s proposal,” he added.
    The government backed the amendments, which were sent to the Senate for further consideration, Kazinform reports.
