Kazakhstan hopes to join the UN Security Council as a temporary member in 2016, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov as saying at the Chinese Institute of International Problems.
“Kazakhstan is calling for rigorous compliance with rules and regulations of international law by all the members of the world community. All the actions on the international scene have to be sanctioned by the UN”.
“As a result, I would like to stress Kazakhstan is calling for the inviolability of the UN’s role as the only international authority able to interfere in conflicts. Kazakhstan plans to support this position in the event it is admitted as a temporary member to the UN Security Council in 2016,” Kazykhanov says, www.tengrinews.kz reports.
