Lyazzat Kiinov to head KazMunaiGas

President Nursultan Nazarbayev has appointed Vice Minister of Oil and Gas, Lyazzat Kiinov to head the KazMunaiGas National Oil and Gas Company JSC, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the official website of the Samruk Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund, which incorporates KazMunaiGas among other companies.
Mr. Kiinov was appointed to the post following coordination with the country’s PM Karim Massimov. Mr. Kiinov replaces Bolat Akchulakov who became head of the company only a few months ago.
Lyazzat Kiinov had already lead KMG back in 2002, which at the time was a closed joint stock company.
KazMunaiGas is the owner of 44 oil and gas onshore fields in the Mangistau and Atyrau regions. The firm’s production divisions have been in operation for more than 90 years.
The company accounts for 65% of overall oil transportation, 100% of gas transportation, 50% of tanker transportation in Kazakhstan. 100 per cent of its shares belong to the Samruk-Kazyna National Sovereign Wealth Fund, according to www.tengrinews.kz
