Russian Institute to finance Exit Polls in Kazakhstan

    The Analytical Center for Studies of Socio-Political Processes at Moscow State University (MSU) will finance exit polls in Kazakhstan.
    Exit polls will be carried out on January 15, Gulmira Ileuova, president of the Strategia Center for Social and Political Studies Social Fund said at a press conference.
    Officials from the ruling Nur Otan Party were also at the press conference.
    The project will be financed by the Alexey Vlasov Information and Analytics Center for Studies of the Post-Soviet Space at MSU. Ileuova has not mentioned the level of financing.
    She reminded reporters that exit polls can be an instrument used by the opposition. The Strategia staff received training in Moldova, part of whose experience was adopted by Kazakhstan.
    Strategi will inform the Central Electoral Commission on the data received from the polls.
    Ileulova added that Strategia also carried out polls following the Maslikhat elections, according to Vestnik Kavkaza.
