The implementation of the Astana-initiated program called Green Bridge is a priority for Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Environmental Protection.
The president’s instruction concerning the move toward green technology, as mentioned in the most recent state-of-the-nation address topped an extended meeting of the ministry.
Both budget and non-budget funds are expected to be used for the effective implementation of the Zhasyl Damu program. Particular attention is now being paid to attract international grants.
Active participation in conservation activities also involves nongovernmental organisations. This year, 72 million tenge will be allocated to maintain these projects.
Department Director at the Ministry of Environmental Protection Galiya Karibzhanova, states, “Environmental issues received special attention in the recent state-of-the-nation address delivered by the president. This issue itself is of global importance. This is a continuation of the Green Bridge project initiated by Astana. It includes the transfer of new technologies for a green economy and the president voiced his support for Green Bridge in his address. This was, of course, a great honor for us. It inspired us, and this is the master plan that is attracting investment. Through the Green Bridge program, we can solve many issues altogether, Caspionet said.
