    Yevgeniy Zhovtis amnestied
Yevgeniy Zhovtis has been amnestied, and will be released within 15 days, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law’s Twitter page.
“Yevgeniy Zhovtis is being released under an amnesty, and will be free within 15 days,” the bureau’s Twitter wrote.
A court in the eastern city of Ust-Kamenogorsk ordered his release under the amnesty for convicts of less serious crimes that marked the twentieth anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence. The ruling was issued by Judge Aybek Amirgaliyev, his aide Nazigul Akimbekova told AFP in a telephone conversation.
Director of the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law Yevgeniy Zhovtis was convicted in September 2009 and sentenced to 4 years in jail for violation of traffic rules after he hit and killed a pedestrian with this car, www.tengrinews.kz said.
