President Nazarbayev receives Astana Akim

    President Nursultan Nazarbayev received Akim of Astana Imangali Tasmagambetov on Tuesday, a presidential press statement said.
    Tasmagambetov discussed architecture and urban planning efforts in the capital.
    He said the city now planned to erect a monument to the victims of famine, which will be built commemorate the forced collectivization and confiscation in 1932-1933 when millions of people were killed, and more than a million were forcably relocated.
    Astana also plans a monument to the great cultural figure, folk musician and composer Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly, he said, according to Gazeta.kz.
