“Kazakhstan welcomes the decision on part of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to freeze its nuclear weapons tests,” Official Spokesman for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Altai Abibullayev said at a briefing.
“Kazakhstan, as country that voluntarily abandoned its nuclear weapons and shut down one of the world’s largest nuclear testing ranges, the Semipalatinsk testing area, supports a general prohibition of nuclear weapons tests, and calls on all parties to the negotiation process to take measures for the demobilization of the Korean peninsula,” he added, according to Gazeta.kz
