Serik Akhmetov inspects Nura-Ishim channel construction

Vice Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov has visited several facilities in the Akmola Oblast as per the instruction of Prime Minister Karim Massimov, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the prime-minister's official website – www.pm.kz.
Akhmetov checked on the progress of the reconstruction of the Nura-Ishim water channel. "The implementation of this project will resolve problems with the “technical water” deficit in Astana. Also, the channel will be able to serve for recreational purposes and increase the water supply to the Maibalyk fish farm," his message states.
The project worth 4.7 billion tenge ($31.8 million) will be completed in October 2012. 23 km of the channel (92 percent of the whole channel) have already been reconstructed, www.tengrinews.kz wrote.
