Kazakhstan’s population reaches 16,718,000

    “The population of Kazakhstan has reached 16,718,000 as of March 1,” Chairman of the Kazakh Statistics Agency Alikhan Smailov announced at a press briefing.
    He said that compared with the beginning of the year, the country’s population has increased by 43 thousand people, or by 0.3%, including 40 thousand through a natural increase and 3 thousand due to immigration, Kazinform reports.
