Attacker of exchange bureau money collector apprehended in Almaty

    The Almaty Interior Department has reported police have arrested a man suspected of involvement in an attack and robbery of an exchange bureau money collector on April 6.
    Three masked men struck the cashier/collector with a metal pipe and stole a bag containing US $100 thousand as well as 7.4 million tenge (around $50 thousand).
    “The criminals beat the 42-year-old victim on the head. He was hospitalized. Witnesses were found immediately, and they informed the police of the model and color of the car used by the criminals,” Deputy Chief of the Almaty Interior Department Criminal Police Kanat Sarymsakov said.
    The Almaty police have apprehended one suspect so far, a 30-year-old resident of the Zhambyl Oblast, who had earlier been accused of a similar crime. His accomplices have been identified and are now wanted, www.tengrinews.kz states.
