Over 480 thousand Kazakhstanis to get clean drinking water in 2012

    Kazakhstan is now implementing its Ak Bulak Program for Water Supply and Water Disposal to provide the population with access to quality drinking water.
    As a result of the program implementation, about 480 thousand Kazakhstani citizens will gain access to drinking water in 2012, the official website of the PM of Kazakhstan said.
    90% of cities and towns across the country will be able to access the central water supply system by 2017. Over 30 thousand utility networks will be reconstructed, President Nursultan Nazarbaev said at the 13th congress of the Nur Otan Party.
    The Ak Bulak Program also includes the modernization of existing and the construction of new water supply and water disposal facilities. It will bring in private capital to the water sector. 130 projects for urban water supply and water disposal, and 257 for rural water supply were implemented in 2011, CA-News wrote.
