New York Times’ special section introduces Kazakhstan worldwide

    A June 15 special edition of the New York Times on Kazakhstan presented timely stories and in-depth analyses of Kazakhstan’s growing role in the international community.
    It cast light on the ways in which Kazakhstan helps to preserve regional peace and economic prosperity, including through its engagement within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and Customs Union.
    The special section focused on the outcomes of Astana Economic Forum, which sent its recommendations to the G-20 Summit.
    The New York Times also covers Kazakhstan’s economic achievements and investment opportunities in infrastructure, telecommunications, agriculture, real estate and energy.
    Kazakhstan was shown to be reforming its education system, building new universities, modern schools and developing new technology.
    The section describes efforts by Kazakhstan to enhance social programs that provide opportunities for all, the News Bulletin of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the US reads.
    The New York Times also covered Kazakhstan’s achievements to keep peace among its diverse ethnic groups and contribute to international peace and inter-faith dialogue through its triennial Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which brings together spiritual leaders from the across the world to spread the message of love and mutual understanding among their followers.
    Moreover, it highlighted the Kazakhstan’s exemplary achievement in the empowerment of women who play a vital role in building a modern society and development projects both in the private and public sectors.
    For example, two thirds of public servants in Kazakhstan are women, Kazinform reports.
