Karaganda bikers hold unauthorized rally

27.07.2012
Karaganda bikers have held an unauthorized rally requesting the removal of 32 road signs forbidding motorbike traffic along the city’s main streets.
Around 30 bikers demanded a review of the reasons behind the 32 road signs and called for opening the city streets for bikers at least during the daytime. The ban is especially harmful to those bikers that live in the city center, participants said.
“Limit the signs’ effective period from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Then nobody will race the streets at night and disturb residents. The signs should not cover the day time however, as the majority of bikers use bikes as personal transport,” biker Aleksander Tsai told the agency.
“There were four serious accidents involving bikers this summer in Karaganda. Bikers died in these accidents, even though in none of the cases were they found guilty of causing the accidents, www.tengrinews.kz wrote.
