5 terrorists liquidated in Almaty region: Prosecutor's General Office

    Reps of law-enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan have detected individuals suspected of terroristic activities in one of the private houses today, on August 17, in Karasaisk district of Almaty region.
    The terrorists put up fierce armed resistance at the attempt of arrest. One of the officers of special detachments was wounded, the Prosecutor's General Office reports.
    In this light, the anti-terror operation was announced at 5:30 a.m. The police evacuated residents of the neighboring houses.
    Five criminals were liquidated in the course of the operation. A criminal case has been initiated. No casualties or injuries among civilians have been reported, according to Kazinform.
