Astana and Almaty to get 4G Internet in 2013

    A 4G network will cover the entire cities Almaty and Astana by 2013, a news message from the Ministry of Transport and Communications states.
    “It was noted that the building of the fourth generation network began in 2012.
    "By the beginning of 2013, this network needs to fully cover Almaty and Astana; and all regional centers of the country by 2014," the statement reads.
    Moreover, the network will cover all localities with a population of more than 50 thousand by 2015 and all district centers by 2018.
    Besides, a project for the introduction of 4G Long Term Evolution mobile communication standards is being adopted, which will make it possible to use the radio-frequency spectrum, officials state, according to Gazeta.kz
