Astana to host CICA FMs session

On September 12, Astana will hold the anniversary session and the fourth session of the Foreign Ministers of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), the Information and Culture Ministry told Trend Wednesday.
CICA is an international forum to enhance cooperation, aimed at ensuring peace, security and stability in Asia. It is based on understanding of the existence of a direct link between peace, security and stability in Asia and around the world.
Member states, reaffirming their commitment to the UN Charter, believe that peace and security in Asia can be achieved through dialogue and cooperation, leading to a common indivisible security in Asia, where states will co-exist, and their people - live in peace, freedom and prosperity.
The idea of convening the CICA was first announced by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev at the 47
th session of the UN General Assembly on October 5, 1992, according to Trend.
