Sarbopeev sentenced to long prison term

The Special Interdistrict Court came to a verdict on the case of former Akim of Kazakh city of Zhanaozen, Orak Sarbopeev on Tuesday, Kazinform reported.
Considering the circumstances of the case, the Court sentenced the former akim to 10 years in prison in a colony confiscating his property.
Sarbopeev is accused of taking large-amounts of bribes.
Earlier a jury in Zhanaozen had acquitted the akim and the investigation of the case was then transferred to Aktobe as per the demands of prosecutors, Trend.
