Kazakhstanis celebrate Astana’s Expo 2017 victory

    Kazakhstani are overjoyed at Astana’s victory in the vote deciding the host city for Expo 2017, officials say.
    Despite the late hour, hundreds of people gathered outside the National Media Center in Astana and watched the live announcement of the results of the session of the International Exhibitions Bureau.
    Secretatary of State Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed said, “I would like to congratulate all the people of Kazakhstan on this victory. First of all, I congratulate all residents of Astana on this outstanding victory. This became possible due to the high international reputation of Nursultan Nazarbayev, the leader of our nation. It is recognition of Kazakhstan's development path which was designed by the President of our country. This is the acknowledgment of the strength and confidence of our team. This is the recognition of the future of Kazakhstan and the capabilities of our beautiful capital, and of course the residents of the young capital city, Caspionet said.
