Laying flowers in Almaty

    In honour of the 26^th anniversary of the December events occurred in 1986, members of political parties, public associations, NGOs, the City Council of War Veterans, youth associations, veterans of the Afghan war and participants of the December events laid flowers at the Tauylsizdik tany monument in Almaty. Those killed in the December events, were honoured with a minute of silence and a prayer asking for the preservation of peace and accord.
    Head of the Almaty Department of Young People’s Policy Sanzhar Bokayev, stated, “Independence is the main value and goal for the development of a modern society. Young people have a chance to continue this development,” Caspionet reports.
