Opposition leader moves to auction off daughters of top officials

The leader of Kazakhstan’s Muslim Union has proposed forcing all daughters of the country’s political elite to divorce and then put them up for auction, Voice of Russia reports.
Mr. Telibekov has called for an annulment of all “VIP-marriages” and confiscation of the “money and property” of married couples.
He has also suggested their wives be distributed among “the strongest and most talented dzhigits [young men]” based on their performance in a traditional Kazakh game called “kokpar.”
Kokpar is a game played on horseback where competitors need to carry a headless goat carcass to their village.
Mr. Telibekov suggested the carcass be replaced by the bride-to-be. He also offered to reward the most skilled equestrians with a controlling share in the country’s largest banks.
The opposition leader explained Kazakhstan is dominated by the sons-in-law of the country’s high-flyers.
“We need to set this all straight before the Kazakh people take to the streets,” Mr. Telibekov said, according to CA-News.
